Life in the Middle Lane

Think about interstate highways. There is the right lane (very slow) and the far left lane (where you take your life into your own hands) and the middle lanes (where you can go faster than the speed limit while having a lower chance of getting a speeding ticket).

The middle lane is where I like to be. In the middle lane I can weave in and out of traffic, I can still go as fast as I want, and if traffic slows down, it is probably because there is a cop up ahead.

In this blog, I talk about my life. Sometimes I feel like I’m standing still, and sometimes I feel like life is whizzing by too fast and I should slow down and check it all out. Life in the Middle Lane chronicles my life (or at least all the stuff that I have time to actually write down).

“Middle lane” does not refer to “middle of the road”, or the liberal/conservative dichotomy, or any other political affiliations. Politically, I’m progressive. I take the best of what anyone has to offer, twist it up, rub it down, mix and match, and call it the bomb.
